Looking like it could be good up here this week. Going in local tomorrow a.m. (Mon) and have Thursday off to hopefully score a few waves.

Meor was clean, crispy, nutritious stoke today. Managed to score some lush rights. I seem to have been riding nothing but left-handers for ages so this was very cool.

Had some quality waves this morning. Nobody about either. I went out on the Vespa R.T. and used U.D.T.s for a taste of the old times. May go in for a few peeling rights once the tide drops off a bit later. Omni and Ducks this time!

Man... This 5 day week it sh*t. Winds look scrap for the weekend too.
Early finish today but think the south coast swell is all but gone.

Yeah, no telling what the weekend will produce. Plenty of swell up here and a LOT of water behind it too.GRAYMAN wrote:Early finish today but think the south coast swell is all but gone.
High water 15.30
Some were up for it but I could not be bothered. This guy was pretty rad.
The roundtail would have owned it.

I'd have done Godrevy/Gwithian around your way today. Overhead at Bantham today apparently.
Not doing this 5 day week sh*t again. I could do with a surf after sitting about. Weekend is starting to look better locally. Probably a similar size on both coasts Sunday. Shame I missed today. I'm in the mood for proper, solid waves at the mo.

Rode P'noe with Kana,Sinclairo and Steve today.Fun,plenty of waves to go round.Gwithian and rivermouth were onshore and pitiful.
Heading west again tomorrow.North then south coast. Will know when I get there.
Funny, tried bodyboarding for a bit today for a laugh.Feels inanimate and sluggish to me now!
Can't hold nose down over the lip to take off like a mat.

Onshore?! NE winds everywhere else. Some pretty classic conditions at a few North Cornish reefs I heard.

Ian and I had a funky little stoke quest today. Checked out St Ives but decided on p'noe. Was pretty rad with some nice long lefts. Ian scored the most incredible high-line tubage (sort of lip curl-over tubage). A virtuoso performance in wave interpretation. Amazing to witness as I was paddling back out. Yeah, was a pretty cool session.

Good stuff. We knocked off early but by that tide the tide was too high and the wind too west.

I don't think there'll be enough to get in there. Not huge at Bamfum.
I'm gonna take a wee nose at Chally tomorrow. Looking forward to the inevitable crowd.

Actually I'm gonna try a point break near Plymouth tomorrow that should have a touch of size and be offshore to start with. If anyone fancies it give me a shout. I could meet you at Marsh Mills at 7.15am so chop chop.

Re: Monday 07/01/13 - Sunday 13/01/13
f*cking dire this morning. Went to that point but not enough swell.
Then went to Wembury... Classic Wembury...
Drove home dry.
I'd considered going to Widemouth... Wish I had now:
Right now I'm in a toss up between 3 options for tomorrow:
1) Play it safish and head to Widdy at dawn.
2) Play it risky and do Chally but risk a) no swell or b) busy line up.
3) Cut my losses and f*ck it off for a bit and just watch the Packers play-off followed by Liverpool V Scum on tele.
Yet to decide.

Right then. Mind made up (assuming the wind stays as is). I'm gonna get to Watergate at first light tomorrow and take it from there.
Anyone who fancies coming along, I'll see you there.

The watergate webcam on msw today looks closed-out and frothy. Hope you luck out. Meor is just terrible dredging sh*t atm. Really mixed up. Shitpipe was producing a crisp left today. Would have surfed it but I got sucked into my rubik's cube.
Ian, what say ye for pnoe tomorrow?

Different forecast tomorrow. Watergate is huge and onshore today. Tomorrow will be half the size and offshore. I'll be there on a higher tide too which makes a world of difference at that place. My main reason for there is that I have options nearby for various swells/winds.
I'm not convinced that the South Coast will really get going so don't want to take a chance. Pretty mixed up swell that looks mostly wind driven and it's going quite west.
Anyway, lets all enjoy the latest from Des at Constantine surf:
Des' Hilarious Forecast wrote:
Surf conditions at 7.40 a.m. on Saturday 12th January 2013: Wow, it's firing this morning! Occasional big sets are exploding behind the Reef and then just peeling all the way into the bay, top to bottom glassy barrels in the half light of a chilly dawn. It is weird though, it's looking maybe three to four feet for most of the time but every maybe ten minutes or longer a mighty set arches through, showing lines almost to the Quies. So those sets have to be big! And the swell lines are angled making for good, good shape. With that dimpled lightness spreading from the East, it's also promising to be a brighter day after all of that rain through the night too. So, an offshore breeze, a banging swell, a brightening sky, a big Spring afternoon tide, it is all looking very promising!
Sounds amazing! What do waves Surf School have to say on the issue?

Surf report at 11am on Saturday 12th January. Constantine bay is 5-6ft cross offshore in a fresh NE wind. Its quite shifty and difficult to get in the right spot.
Well that rather took the wind out (or put it in!?)
Good ol' Des
